Yoga Mats FAQ

Q: What are the dimensions of the mat?

The mats have the standard yoga mat dimensions:

68" x 24" length and width with a 3.5mm thickness.

Q: Does that mat come with a carrying strap?

Yes!

Q: What are the mats made of?

The bottom of the mat is made of natural tree-rubber, which is completely bio-degradable. The surface is made of microfiber and is printed with water-based inks.

Our yoga mats DO NOT contain PVC, phthalates, or the other toxic chemicals found in many traditional yoga mats.

Q: How do I clean my yoga mat?

The mats are machine washable. We recommend using cold water on a gentle/delicate cycle with non-bleach detergent. Do NOT tumble dry.

To dry, wrap your mat in a towel and squeeze out any excess water. Then hang your mat or lay it out flat in a well-lit and well-ventilated area to complete the drying process.

If your washing machine has an agitator it would be best to wash it by hand with a sponge or with wipes to avoid damage to the top.

For light daily cleaning, you can use an all natural mat cleaner. It’s important to make sure that the mat cleaner does not contain bleach, because it could damage the vibrant colors of your mat.

Q: Why is my mat more slippery then what I'm used to? How do I improve the grip of my mat?

When we set out to create yoga mats we new we were not going to make mats that contained PVC and the other harmful chemicals found in traditional yoga mats. Such as phthalates, which are traditionally used to make yoga mats “sticky”. These chemicals have been shown by the CDC and others to be potentially toxic to the human body with excessive exposure. Our mats do not include these harmful chemicals, but there is a tradeoff. Without the toxic coating,  the microfiber surface of our mats is not as “sticky” as traditional yoga mats (in dry conditions). If you prefer a mat with a strong grip, spray the mat lightly with some water from a spray bottle. This will greatly improve the grip! Feel free to experiment with amount and frequency of application to get the grip that best suites your needs.

Each mat was designed by an independent artists. We work with artist from all over the world. The name of the artists who designed your particular mat can be found on the product page. Feel free to click on their name to visits their profile page and learn more about their artwork.

As with all of our products the artists receives 20% of the retail sale value every time one of their mats is sold.

Q: Where are the mats being manufactured?

The mats are manufactured in China at a factory that has almost completely automated the production process. We have seen inside the facility to ensure safe and clean working conditions. They are a 9 year Gold Supplier, guaranteeing safety, quality, and a humane working environment.

Unfortunately, the industry has pushed almost all of the manufacturing overseas. As a result, there's no sustainable mat manufacturing options that can do Dye Sublimation mats within the U.S..

Sustainable manufacturing is something that we have always been passionate about and we are looking to set up production in the U.S. for the yoga mats like we have with all of our apparel.
